About Us

Collins Law PLLC was formally established in 2021. We opened our doors on January 3, 2022.  Mark Collins is the founder and owner of Collins Law, PLLC.  Mark began practicing law in 1994 after graduating from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. He has a robust general law practice and also serves as the Assistant County Attorney for both Todd and Christian Counties in Kentucky.  Mark is also the founder and attorney of Elder Law Advocates, which provides targeted legal services for long term care and estate planning.  Mark is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Mark D. Collins received his Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1994, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French from Morehead State University in 1991. Mark is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Laura Sandefur

Laura provides support with various tasks including conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing documents, communicating with clients, preparing hearings, trials and meetings, organizing and maintaining client files including the electronic client data system.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University.

Erica Driskill

Office Assistant
Erica provides part time administrative support including client communication, scheduling appointments, maintaining digital client files and community outreach.  Erica also works at a local hospital and out patient clinic where she is a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Erica holds an Associate of Arts degree and an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Jill Collins BSW, LSW

Social Work Consultant
Jill is a licensed social worker in Kentucky with over 25 years experience in medical and geriatric social work. She is a graduate of Morehead State University.

Jill’s focus is to provide consultation and resource assessments for clients seeking Elder Law Planning services. Jill assists clients and families in accessing resources for long term care planning and to support social determinants of health.

Kathy Payne, R.N

Nurse Consultant
Kathy has been a registered nurse since 1995. Kathy has spent her career providing patient care and consulting services for home and community based care,  long term care settings in addition to direct clinical care.  Kathy can answer questions regarding clinical and skilled services and help guide families regarding long term care options.
